With two locations in Zebulon and Wilmington, North Carolina, Debnam & Company focuses on building strong relationships based on mutual trust with our clients in order to meet your every need.

As an independent agency, Debnam & Company is licensed to do business in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee and Georgia. We write all types of insurance including Business, Personal, Employee Benefits, Individual Benefits and Bonds. Debnam & Company also provides loss prevention and risk management services.

1952

Arron C. Lowery opens Lowery Insurance Agency.

1980

Ed Debnam begins working at the Lowery Agency and becomes a stockholder.

1982

Ed Debnam becomes majority stockholder of Lowery Insurance Agency and begins to create his vision for the agency.

1995

Ed Debnam changes the name of the agency to Debnam Insurance.

2009

Taylor Debnam joins the family business as 2nd generation.

2013

Debnam Insurance expands to Wilmington, NC.

2014

Debnam Insurance launches new branding to give a more modern look.

2015

Debnam Insurance launches new website.

  • Ed Debnam Jr

    Owner/Agency Principal

    Ed graduated from NC State University with his Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology. Ed then began his insurance career with Mutual of New York selling Life Insurance in 1976. After leaving Mutual of New York to join Lowery Insurance in 1980, Ed has spent the past 35 years growing Debnam Insurance into what it is today. He has always been a firm believer of building long-standing relationships with clients and making sure their needs come first.

  • Taylor Debnam

    Agency Principal

    Taylor graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Marketing. While in school, Taylor worked at various retail jobs, which helped him understand the value of customer service. He begin working for the family business in 2009. Taylor used his marketing background to revamp the agency with a new brand. He plans to continue his dad’s vision of creating strong relationships with clients and hopes to build on what his dad has accomplished.
